NATURAL BEAUTY, TIMELESS BACKDROPS

Millican Reserve is one of the most scenic settings in the Brazos Valley. From golden-hour light over the lake to wildflowers blooming in open fields, the landscape offers variety and depth in every season. Popular locations include the Boathouse, Grove, and Market areas, as well as trails, shaded oak groves, and Mount Millican. Photographers regularly use the property for engagement sessions, bridals, senior portraits, and family milestones. It’s a place where nature elevates every frame.

Photography Policy

PROTECTING THE LANDSCAPE

To protect the land and ensure a positive experience, all professional or posed photography must be scheduled in advance. A permit is required to access the property for a photo session. Photography is allowed only during daylight hours and in designated locations. Drones are not permitted without special authorization, and props that could damage the landscape (confetti, glitter, smoke bombs, etc.) are not allowed. Please treat all trails, wildlife, and facilities with care, and leave no trace.

We ask that all photographers plan ahead to ensure availability and receive proper access. Contact us to schedule your session. Professional photographers who are not current members must apply for a permit before entering the property. To get started, visit our Pricing page or use the form below to submit a request. Photography Policy

Millican Reserve Is Private Property And A Protected Landscape. We Welcome Photography That Respects The Land And The Experience Of Others, And We’ve Established A Few Important Guidelines To Help Preserve The Beauty Of This Place For Everyone.

Professional Photography Permits: Any Individual Providing Paid Photography Services—such As Portraits, Engagements, Bridals, Senior Photos, Or Family Sessions—must Apply For And Receive A Photography Permit Prior To The Session. This Includes Anyone Charging A Fee, Regardless Of The Size Or Duration Of The Shoot.

Member Privileges: Conservancy Members Are Welcome To Take Non-commercial, Personal Photos (Such As Family Snapshots Or Nature Photography) During Their Visits Without A Permit.

Scheduling And Access: All Permitted Sessions Must Be Scheduled In Advance. Approved Sessions May Take Place Only During Daylight Hours And In Designated Areas.

Drone Use: Drones Are Not Allowed Without Prior Written Approval.

Land Protection: To Help Protect The Landscape, No Glitter, Confetti, Smoke Bombs, Or Other Props That Could Damage The Land Are Allowed. Please Remain On Trails Or Natural Clearings, And Leave No Trace.
