Welcome to the Conservancy
The trails at Millican Reserve offer a way to experience the land up close, whether you’re hiking, biking, running, or riding. Winding through the post oak savannah, they take you through woodlands, across open meadows, and along quiet creek beds, revealing the landscape’s natural beauty at every turn. These private trails are carefully maintained to protect the ecosystems they pass through while providing a space for recreation and connection to nature. They are an important part of the Conservancy’s mission, encouraging outdoor exploration while preserving the land for future generations.
Winding through woodlands, meadows, and along quiet creek beds, the pedestrian trails offer a peaceful way to experience the post oak savannah. Whether walking, hiking, or running, these paths provide a space for movement and reflection while minimizing impact on the natural environment. Thoughtfully maintained, they ensure that foot traffic remains in balance with our conservation efforts.
Designed for a mix of skill levels, the biking trails weave through the terrain, offering both challenge and enjoyment. Riders can navigate winding paths, open stretches, and natural obstacles while experiencing the landscape in motion. These trails are built to respect the land, ensuring that biking remains a sustainable part of the outdoor experience.
For riders and their horses, the equestrian trails provide a scenic and natural way to explore Millican Reserve. Millican Reserve’s trails are open daily from sun up until sundown. Trails are closed during and immediately after periods of rain. Riding muddy trails leaves ruts, contributes to erosion and creates and unrideable, hard-to-repair trail surface. The trails temporarily close for marathons and other racing events throughout the year.
